Whatever brought you here - a diagnosis that never quite fit, treatment that hasn't worked, or simply not knowing where to start - let's find a starting point

NHS or private? Psychiatric assessment or therapy?
Which kind of therapy? Who to see and in what order?

If you're unsure where to start…

1. One-off Advisory session

NHS or private? Assessment or therapy? Which kind, who to see, and in what order? In one focused session I’ll

help you understand what’s available and what to ask, so you leave with a clear plan and your next step.

This isn’t for you if:

• You’re looking for a diagnostic assessment or a referral into treatment. (If that’s what you’re looking for, keep scrolling…)!

Available in English and Romanian for patients based in England, online.

45-50 minutes

Fee: 180 £

2. Is there a quick way to help me understand myself better?
How do I know if I may need long term depth work, or shorter, focused therapy?

Choosing the right kind of help can feel confusing – even the language used to describe it.

Before recommending a direction, we take time to understand you: not just what’s difficult right now, but how you relate to yourself and others, what tends to keep you stuck, and where that might come from. This isn’t about arriving at a diagnosis. It’s about building a shared understanding of your inner world that actually makes sense to you.

We’ll spend 2–3 sessions (around 3 hours in total) on this. Together we’ll look at your patterns, your strengths, and the ways you’ve learned — often without realising it — to cope and protect yourself. From there, we’ll agree together whether longer, depth-oriented work or a shorter, structured approach fits you best.

Most therapists offer whatever they happen to be trained in, whether or not it’s the right fit for you. Starting instead from an understanding of you means a much better chance of ending up somewhere that actually helps.

For many people, simply being understood this way is where the change begins. Some find that this initial understanding is enough, giving them a clearer sense of direction to make changes themselves, or with the support of family and friends, without needing ongoing therapy at all.

This session leads to a recommendation on the type of psychotherapy and where to find it – not necessarily a direct referral, though this will be considered where appropriate.

This isn’t for you if:

You need a psychiatric diagnosis and medication. If that’s the case, choose option 3 below. This option is about a psychological understanding.

Fee: £950, including a written summary. Available for patients based in the United Kingdom.

3. Sometimes what you need is an assessment and a diagnosis, and a plan

If you’re looking for a psychiatric assessment, ADHD or autism (ASD) assessment, or ongoing medical care, this is available directly through Midland Health – online, or in person at their Edgbaston clinic in Birmingham.

The assessment itself is thorough, looking at the full picture of your life, history, and circumstances, not just a checklist of symptoms.

For ADHD in particular, that means considering it alongside – not separately from –  any other mental health difficulties you may have, rather than assessing it in isolation.

It leads to a clear diagnosis where appropriate, and a treatment plan built around you.

Midland Health is a CQC-registered clinic with a welcoming, professional setup. Alongside psychiatry, you’ll find GPs and other therapists and Consultants on site, so your care can be joined up rather than fragmented across different services.

Available at Midland Health:

• Psychiatric assessment and treatment

• ADHD assessment (diagnostic and treatment planning)

• Autism (ASD) assessment

• Ongoing medication management and reviews

• In person in Edgbaston, Birmingham, or online
